"We preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." | 1 Corinthians 1:23-24
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for He who promised is faithful."
Hebrews 10:23
Under the theme, “Our Hope for Years to Come,” Hope joyously celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2016. As part of the celebration, we reflected on our past and how much God has and continues to bless us.
Our anniversary theme was chosen not only to highlight the name of our congregation, but it also comes from the hymn "O God, Our Help in Ages Past," and anchors our hope in our Lord Jesus Christ as we look to the future. In the first verse of this hymn, we acknowledge God's blessing and help in years past, but then we also sing in confident trust that He also remains "our hope for years to come." He has blessed us with 100 years of receiving and proclaiming His grace, mercy, and forgiveness; and so, we rest in knowing that He will continue to be faithful to His Church for years to come.
